The Mews Bridal is a unique one-stop Parisian wedding dress shop in New York that exclusively carries French brands only such as Rime Arodaky, Laure de Sagazan, Delphine Maivet & more! Lead by Mother and Daughter team Gail and Lauren, The Mews Bridal has brought a breath of fresh air to the wedding industry with their keen eye for detail and a love of fashion. Gail and Lauren shared their three, quite important pieces of advice for every bride to consider when dress shopping:
1. Don’t let other voices sway you.
It happens so often. Always bring friends and family with you when trying on wedding dresses. It is meant to be a fun and exciting process, and having the opinions of your nearest and dearest is invaluable but don’t bring too many people and don’t be too swayed by their thoughts. You are dressing for you, not for anyone else.
2. Do remember your wedding dress should be an extension of your personal, everyday style… just elevated for the big day.
If your style is normally safe - showing little flesh - then choose a dress to match. If you don’t like flamboyancy then don’t pick a huge sparkling gown for your wedding day. Pick something that is true to yourself.
3. Don’t leave it too late.
If you buy a dress that is going to be handmade and then tailored to your exact size, this is going to take some serious time! We normally tell brides that they need to buy a dress at least 6 months before their wedding!
Easy as that? Not necessarily, but keep in mind, the stylists are on your side to remind you to stay true to yourself.
