Coastal Elegance Wedding Inspiration
Growing up on the Jersey Shore, I've found myself consistently in awe of the beauty of our beaches. The scent of the sea and the warmth of the sun always invigorates the soul. I wanted to showcase the elegance of the Jersey Shore, but also showcase how to transform ballrooms into unique spaces. So, I teamed up with the best of the best and we created this beautiful shoot at Clarks Landing Yacht Club in Point Pleasant Beach, NJ.
I wanted to show how complementary colors and textures still look beautiful together without matching every design element. Creating different tablescapes within the ballroom is a great way to design a more intimate setting. Nuage Designs provided the beautiful textured linens, from a soft touch velvet to an almost silk-like runner to represent the movements of the sea. With the help of the immense talent of Narcissus Florals, the ballroom was filled with warmth with three distinct designs from over-the-top tall centerpieces to intimate and textured low centerpiece designs.
The accents of slate candles, candelabras and floating candles transformed the ballroom into an intimate gathering. The bridal dresses provided by Castle Couture were gorgeous designs from Hayley Paige and Calla Blanche. Tulle was the main focus and we had plenty. The beautiful textures and incredible detail made all of our models, all former or current brides to Clarks Landing Yacht Club, feel like princesses all over again.
We hope we inspired you to host your wedding at the Jersey Shore!

Austin: Down-Home Luxury
When choosing a destination for your wedding away, one important factor that might not immediately come to mind is overall vibe. Frequent travelers know it’s possible to form a special connection to a particular place and its people. Finding a destination wedding location where you feel at home and at ease with your surroundings and the wedding professionals on-site is invaluable. One such destination that boasts a unique and powerful vibe, is Austin, Texas.
Creative types have flocked to the “Live Music Capital of the World” for years, but Austin has more than just music. There’s a strong culinary scene, quintessential Southern hospitality and, of course, the locals’ sense of pride in their city. Austinites’ creative drive and desire to uphold their city’s reputation carries over into everything they do – including hosting special events like destination weddings. If you’re a couple who is looking for these key characteristics (great food, friendly people and world-class entertainment) but still like to enjoy the finer things in life, then Omni Barton Creek Resort & Spa may be just the ticket.
This high-end, Hill Country resort reopened in spring 2019 after a complete renovation. The property was purchased by Omni Hotels & Resorts in 2013 with the intention of Barton Creek being the new flagship location for the brand. As a result, no expense was spared in the total overhaul of the resort, its clubhouse, fitness facilities and event spaces. Located 20-minutes outside downtown Austin, Omni Barton Creek guests will find 493 guest rooms and suites, four pools, four championship golf courses, a state-of-the-art spa, and over 76,000 square-feet of event space – all spread across 4,000 scenic, sprawling acres.
In the past, Barton Creek has been primarily known for its world-class golf and booming real estate market. Omni sought to bring the resort up-to-snuff…to be worthy of its golf courses and ritzy zip code. The resort’s décor embraces the locale (a’la Austin limestone at every turn), but maintains an upscale, neutral palette – perfect for any wedding backdrop. The event spaces run the gamut, both in size and style. The chic Brazos Ballroom caters to very large events, the indoor/outdoor Hill Country Pavilion is picture-perfect in the heart of the resort, and The Rock House is a private, rustic option. It’s not surprising Omni Barton Creek’s events calendar is competitive, and it’s important you book your wedding well in advance.
The Texas Hill Country outside of Austin and Omni Barton Creek Resort & Spa really do offer the best of both worlds – access to one of the country’s entertainment capitals and a scenic backdrop with Southern service worthy of even the most high-end of events.

Say Yes To A Rented Dress
Many brides-to-be have fantasized about bridal gown shopping since they were little girls. What they may not have realized is that once there is a ring on it, she suddenly has to buy not only “the dress,” but special outfits for an engagement party, engagement photo shoot, bridal shower, bachelorette getaway, rehearsal dinner, morning after the wedding brunch, and honeymoon. Geez, shopping never felt like such a chore!
The designer clothing rental craze is a great alternative for a soon-to-be-Mrs. to consider. A beautiful “something borrowed” is just a few mouse clicks or finger taps away, eliminating the time commitment of going to a store. For a fraction of the cost, a bride can rent gorgeous dresses she may otherwise not have been able to afford.
“The beauty of a rental dress service allows women to have a new dress for every event. Because she is going to be in so many photos, it’s great to be able to send the items back easily after she snaps her best shots,” says Bethany Sharp, co-founder and president of Lady Jetset, a white-glove concierge fashion rental service that delivers statement wardrobe pieces to your home and hotel. “Obviously, we know that special wedding gown is a one-of-a-kind purchase and meant to be kept forever, but for the other dresses that are required for all the days leading up, let us handle it all!”
On top of wedding planning, packing for a bachelorette weekend, destination wedding, and honeymoon is just another added stressor. Sharp can certainly relate. The Palm Beach, Fla. resident had a destination wedding at Atlantis, Paradise Island’s The Cove resort in the Bahamas when she married professional race car driver Scott Sharp in 2012.
The couple lived quite the jet setting lifestyle on the racing circuit, traveling from city-to-city and track-to-track. Sharp wanted to capture the essence of each destination’s vibe in her wardrobe selection, but the constant packing, lugging of suitcases, unpacking, and dry cleaning created quite the headache for her. She realized there must be a simpler way for globe-trotting fashionistas like herself. That’s how Sharp devised the unique concept of Lady Jetset.
“Scott is a go-getter and an entrepreneur at heart. I always had the vision and love for design and creativity and it instantly blended so well with his eager-to-run-with-it personality,” she credited her hubby. “Scott has always taken my creativity and turned it into a business.”
Sharp and her team curate customized, destination-specific wardrobes that get shipped in the company’s signature red box directly to the customer’s hotel. The concierge will have the clothing ready and waiting for the guest upon arrival. Return shipping and laundering is included in the rental fee. Before departing the hotel, the concierge will handle returning items to Lady Jetset, so travelers can fly home with minimal luggage and barely any dirty laundry.
A celebrity stylist and fit expert is on-hand to ensure customers select pieces that will fit like a glove. She can schedule FaceTime appointments with clients to see her size and body type. Women in the South Florida area can get same-day delivery for last-minute fashion emergencies and are welcome to visit the Lady Jetset showroom to try on styles in person at their Jupiter Island showroom.
Many times, people feel they need a vacation after a vacation. By knocking the tasks of packing, carrying, and laundry off the to-do list, honeymoons can be as relaxing as they are meant to be. Purchased dresses not only take up space in suitcases, but also take up valuable real estate in closets. Remember, wives needs to make room for her new husband or wife’s clothing too!
Rental fashion is also a great option for bridal parties and wedding guests. Kameron Westcott from “The Real Housewives of Dallas” wore a pink tiered Valentino dress from Lady Jetset on the hit Bravo show when she threw co-star LeeAnne Locken a bridal shower in April.
Sharp broke down the fashion, all available to rent at ladyjetset.com, she recommends for popular destination wedding locales:
- Disney Magic- For the rehearsal dinner, wish upon a star in a twinkling maxi dress from designer Rococo Sand, which has stars embroidered on it.
- Eloping in Vegas- The white Rita Eyelet Ruffle Beach Dress by designer Poupette St Barth is the perfect cover-up for a poolside bridal look. Dinnertime calls for a bold print from Dolce & Gabbana and brides who are tying the knot in Vegas can go sexy glam in a Ronny Kobo mini-dress when hitting The Strip’s nightlife scene. Sin City is also known as a shopping mecca. Get your retail therapy on wearing a piece by Love Shack Fancy.
- Tropical Paradise- Patbo is the way to go for a Caribbean island or Mexican destination wedding.
- Wine Country- If your husband or wife-to-be had you at hello, Lady Jetset’s burgundy-colored faux fur vest will have you at merlot! Sip in style at the vineyards and tasting rooms in a long dress by Love Shack Fancy.
- Snowcapped Mountains- Winter weddings with the backdrop of snowcapped mountains make for gorgeous photos, however bulky sweaters and coats take up a lot of room in luggage. Lady Jetset now offers rental parkas, faux fur vests and jackets, cashmere sweaters, and ski pants to look chic on the slopes and at the lodge.
- European Castle- Get your Markle Sparkle on in a dramatic, regal plaid or metallic gown that captures the candlelight beautifully.

Including the Pup in Your Wedding
How to Make Sure They're in on the Fun
As a devoted dog mom and owner of Frenchie Bulldog, a pet supply company, having my French Bulldog Leo be part of my wedding day was a must. After all, before I met my husband it was just Leo and I. This past summer, I married the love of my life Justin at the Rancho Valencia Resort in Rancho Santa Fe, California. Although the day was focused on Justin and I getting married, it was also about Leo, Justin and I officially becoming a family of three. From the ceremony to the cocktail menu, Leo played a huge role in our big day. I am so thrilled to share some ways you can incorporate your favorite four-legged friends when you say ‘I Do.’
Have your dog get ready with you!
Although my wedding preparation took a bit longer, I made sure to set aside time to make sure my best man was dressed to impress. Leo’s presence definitely calmed my nerves and made me feel at home. It was so special getting to dress him in a collar and leash set that I designed specifically for the wedding. The set featured white vegan leather and gold hardware to match the wedding party (we’ll be launching this on the Frenchie site later this year!) Additionally, the collar was adorned with a bow-tie and Justin and I’s initials.
Share the ceremony aisle with your dog.
Leo and I love to go on walks together so it was a no brainer to include him in the biggest walk of my life. With the help of three groomsmen, Leo led the way down the aisle in a floral throne fit for a prince. The trip down the aisle, with all of the attention on him, proved to be tiring and he took a nap during the ceremony. However, he was ready to go when it came time for Justin and I to say ‘I Do.’ After our first kiss as husband and wife, the three of us walked down the aisle together as a family.
It’s all in the details.
Leo, also, served as a source of inspiration when creating our signature cocktail menu. In addition to the “Bella Bridge” and “Give it to me Just Right”, the Spicy Leo drink was a favorite among guests. The Spicy Leo consisted of Mandarin tequila with cranberry, orange and lime juices spiced with a Serrano chili slice. We also had an illustration of Leo done by my friend Valeria of Fine Frenchie, dressed in a tux with a drink in hand, on the corner of the drink menu. The menu was definitely one of my favorite details.
Let’s dance.
We included in Leo in our first dance as he is an essential part of our family unit. Having him on the floor with us was a special moment I will never forget.
Let them eat cake, too!
An easy and sweet way to make your wedding dog-friendly is to serve a doggie cake. We enlisted Petisserie, a Las Vegas-based pet bakery, to create a replica of our three-tier cake by Susie Cakes so Leo could participate in the cake cutting. With Leo in my arms, Justin served Leo a piece of the cake, too.
Like many, my wedding day was the most special day of my life, and having Leo there was truly the icing on the cake. I hope you find these ideas helpful as you plan your big day with your favorite animals in mind. Lastly, I am so excited to announce that Leo’s wedding day collar and leash will be available for purchase on FrenchieBulldog.com later this fall, so your dog can blend in with the rest of your wedding party.

Important Registry Items and Etiquette
Couples registering for wedding gifts may want to listen in to the summary of results from a national survey conducted for Erie Insurance before choosing gifts for their registries. The survey asked about items couples didn’t register for but now wish they had, as well as gifts they are still glad they registered for versus ones they regret. It also asked respondents about their most unusual wedding gifts, their attitudes on various etiquette topics including registering for money and their advice to other couples registering today. Common registry items people didn’t register for but now wish they had included a robotic vacuum cleaner, an air fryer and lawn equipment. Below is a list of the top five items couple's wished they had registered for:
When asked to name their favorite gift that they registered for and received, one person said an elephant ride; another said a trip to Paris, and another said his and hers matching bathrobes. Regarding items people most regretted registering for, write-in answers included a back scratcher, dog seat covers, and “too many casserole dishes.”
Some of the more unusual gifts couples received were regifts. One person said they received a restaurant gift card for an odd amount as if part of it had been used. Another received a registry book that had already been written in.
Respondents also weighed in on etiquette topics, including registering for money. While two-thirds of people think registering for money is fine, the other third thinks it’s tacky/in poor taste. Almost half of those surveyed said they registered for money. Of those, nearly half said it was for general use, while said it was for a honeymoon. Ten percent said it was for a down payment on a house, and the same percentage said the money was for a home improvement project.
People were of two minds when it came to offering advice to couples registering today. Several said they’d advise couples to register for expensive items they’d never buy for themselves (one said to register for “something special that will make you cry when you see it”) while others encouraged registering only for practical items they would use often, with one saying “get the needs out of the way before the wants.”
Methodology: This survey was conducted online by Falls Communications on behalf of Erie Insurance from June 26 through July 1, 2019 among 500 U.S. residents ages 28-40. It was designed to capture and compare the opinions of U.S. residents who had registered for wedding gifts within the past six years (between 2013-2018). Falls Communications established the sampling quotas, designed the questionnaire, tabulated the survey responses, and managed the overall project. Falls used Dynata (Plano, TX) to administer the survey via the internet, including mobile devices, to Dynata’s captive U.S. panels who met the age and regional demographic criteria.
About Erie Insurance: According to A.M. Beautiful Beach Wedding in Maui
When asked why newlyweds James and Christina decided to have a destination wedding on the beaches of Hawaii, the answer was simple: “We love to travel, and we love Maui!”
Because the bride had always dreamed of getting married in Maui, vacationed there since her childhood and even lived there after college, the island seemed like the perfect destination for the couple to embark on their new journey together as husband and wife.
“James and I had taken many trips to Maui, and it became a special place for us. We love the ocean and the beach and were excited to have our family and friends celebrate in a place we love,” the bride says.
To carry this sentimentality throughout the wedding, Christina and James also paid a special homage to their dog and to their grandparents who were not able to attend the wedding in person.
“We had a display with pictures of all of our grandparents as well as our parents on their wedding days. I bought pineapples and propped the printed pictures on them,” the bride says. “One of our favorite details was our signature cocktail, which was named Kona Kooler, after our sweet dog Kona who couldn't make it to the wedding. We made stir sticks with her picture to garnish cocktails.”
Fortunately for Christina, executing the details of her destination wedding was easier than she thought it would be, thanks to the help of her planner, Kristen from Sugar Beach Events. She also took a trip to Maui six months prior to the big day for a tasting and a meeting with the florist.
Christina also recommends splurging on photography and videography over anything else. “It has been amazing reliving all of the details over and over with gorgeous photos and a video,” the bride says.
Although the price tag for a destination wedding can seem expensive at first, the couple estimates that they would have spent the same amount had they opted for a local wedding instead. Cost aside, their wedding experience would have lacked the same Hawaiian essence had they tied the knot anywhere but Maui.
“We wouldn't have had the fun, tropical vibe that we loved,” the bride says. “It was so fun to have people there for multiple days. We had a few pre-wedding events, so we were able to spend more time with our guests. People were on vacation mode, so I would like to think they enjoyed the wedding more than had it been at home.”
James and Christina’s Hawaiian nuptials perfectly captured the love they share for Maui with a destination wedding that was as beautiful as the love they share for each other.

Stocking Wedding Bar on a Budget
Choosing the right booze for a wedding can be stressful when debating price vs quality. To stay within budget without sacrificing caliber, bar manager Jonathan Rodriguez at W South Beach’s Living Room shares his tips on the best booze worth the buck for a significantly cheaper open bar.
1. Rum - Ron Barceló’s Dark Series ($23) and Ron Barceló Grand Platinum ($20)
“Ron Barceló Dark series is a premium rum. It’s really smooth and perfect for a vintage cocktail (like a Highball or Old Fashioned) or on the rocks. For cocktails, use the Platinum Barceló.”
2. Gin - Gin Tanqueray ($30)
“Gin Tanqueray is a well-known brand that is cheaper than Hendricks and Bombay. It’s best for simple cocktails, like a Gin & Tonic or Negroni.”
3. Tequila - Tequila Espolón ($25)
“Tequila Espolón is a great value brand, where event the reposado is cheaper than some Blanco tequilas! Besides, shots, it makes good Palomas and Margaritas”
4. Vodka - Tito’s Vodka ($20)
“Tito’s Vodka is a value brand and mixes well with just about anything. In a cocktail, Moscow Mule is best.”
Pro-tip for an even cheaper open bar:
“Another way to budget would be to create His/Her or Bride/Groom cocktails. Featuring two cocktails that might be favorites of the wedding couple gives a personal touch while controlling what spirits and mixers you need. For the guests who don’t drink cocktails, have a beer and wine alternative.”

A Gem in the Heart of London
When choosing a location for a romantic getaway or destination wedding in an iconic city like London, most couples want to immerse themselves in its culture, history and local vibe.
On our most recent visit to London we uncovered a very special place located in the heart of St. James, Mayfair that does just that.
The Stafford Hotel boasts a prestigious address that goes back to the 1700s. It has taken many forms from the private residence of the daughter of the Earl of Spenser to a WWII air raid shelter. It was also the home of a famous WWII secret agent Nancy Wake aka, The White Mouse who was considered the Gestapo’s most wanted person. In recognition for her contribution to the war effort the Stafford welcomed her into residence, and it is said that most mornings she could be found at the bar sipping gin and tonic. The Stafford has a most interesting past, but it is now a 5-star luxury hotel that oozes character and charm and delivers every creature comfort one could ask for.
The Stafford is comprised of three separate buildings, each with a unique flavor and style. The Main House can be described as Victorian grandeur, The Mews Suites have a more modern feel and The Carriage House still retains the charm of its roots as a stable for a British nobleman. All are set around a beautiful and tranquil courtyard, an oasis for the bustling city that surrounds it.
My favorite location for a small, chic intimate destination wedding would be a cocktail hour in the courtyard followed by a dinner in the fully operational wine cellar. This chic underground venue was used as a club for American and Canadian officers during WWII and houses a fascinating collection of memorabilia. There are also a number of other elegantly appointed rooms for small gatherings including rehearsal dinners and brunches. The Stafford is licensed for civil ceremonies and partnerships.
Modern British cuisine, including afternoon tea is served in the Game Bird, the restaurant in the Main House and the American Bar, also decorated with artifacts from the states is a congregating point for guests to share a drink or Mediterranean inspired dishes.
The location of the Stafford is hard to beat with its proximity to Buckingham Palace, Hyde Park, and West End theaters. Check with the concierge for directions to is a little-known passageway that leads to Green Park with quick access to the underground stations.
The Stafford typifies unobtrusive elegance in the heart of this bustling, vibrant city and is truly a find on our search for places to unlock the door of romance.
