Destination Celebration Essentials

No matter where you plan to host your event, there are some basics you will need. If you plan to have a destination wedding, but are planning other events close to home, these fun and totally customizable essentials will take your party to the next level.

Shatterproof Glassware

When our editor – Courtney Kellar – got engaged, we threw her a bridal shower that reflected her wedding destination (Scotland) with cute plaid details, thistle accented flower centerpieces, a lace photo backdrop and customized, shatterproof Champagne flutes from Tossware. The company was generous enough to send us sample flutes and allow us to go through the custom design process, so we could see for ourselves the quality and customer service they tout.

True to form, the design process was easy and the end result was an adorable take-home favor that the bride loved. The sturdy, yet shatterproof glasses are available in traditional stemmed flutes or stem-less, the choice is up to you. If Champagne flutes aren’t your jam, stem-less wine glasses, beer glasses and other products are available to customize.

The price is also reasonable, so it won’t break your décor budget. Prices start at $23.99 for a set of 12, 9 oz stem-less Champagne glasses.

Portable Bar

If you plan to host any type of party, having a stand-alone bar considerably elevates the feel of the celebration. The option of renting a bar provides a one-time solution and many times, what is delivered is a generic, beat up, sad looking situation. At first glance, it does the trick, but wouldn’t it be great to have something all your own? And to be able to store it away when it is not in use would be even more genius.

Enter Best of Times’ portable bar. We received a sample and put it to use immediately. We went with the “When I Sip, You Sip, We Sip” personalized wine message canvas wrap in black. You are able to fully customize the bar or select from their other pre-made designs.

The end result? Our party guests loved it! It was fairly easy to assemble and once it was ready to be stored after use, a quick wipe down and 10 minutes later it was in its storage bag, zipped up and in the garage.

The bar comes with a “food-grade insulated cooler,” three levels of “blow-mold plastic shelving” and a “polyester fabric wrap with UV protective coating,” as well as the rolling storage bag that’s just a tad bigger than a travel golf bag. If you choose to purchase the umbrella (highly recommended) and bar stools, those will cost you extra. The basic bar starts at $299.

Best of Times’ customer service is also on point – we called and had someone get back to us in less than 24 hours, quickly answering our question with kindness and urgency.
