South Asian Tradition Cabo Style!

South Asian Tradition Cabo Style!

Planning and producing South Asian wedding celebrations is a specialty that is not well understood in many parts of the world. There are numerous regions and religious practices that require incredibly specialized cultural knowledge, decor pieces and specialty items that are not readily available.

When Nirjary Desai, a wedding planner herself, and Amit Vyas became engaged, they both knew they wanted an intimate beach location for their wedding celebrations. They chose Los Cabos since Nirjary had never done a wedding there and she knew Del Cabo Weddings was the only wedding planning company in the region that could easily supply and correctly set up the intricate decor and special items for all of the events that were planned. From the Pithi/Grah Shanti, to the Mendhi/Henna, the Sangeet, the Hindu Ceremony and Vivah right through to the cocktails and reception, Del Cabo Weddings ensured each and every detail was beyond perfect.

Looking back now, Nirjary says the most memorable part of the entire celebration for them was being able to spend time or at least talk to each and every one of their guests. They both recall an incredible moment during the wedding ceremony when they were both under the Mandap (altar) and looked out at all the guests and realized every one of them genuinely cared about them and wanted to be there.

They felt a tremendous surge of love during the ceremony as the wind softly stirred the capice shells like heavenly wind chimes, the view was breathtaking and the energy of all five elements: earth, wind, water, fire, sky and sun, were truly magical.

Many surprises were planned for their guests at each of the events. The biggest surprise for Amit was a dance performed by Nirjary, complete with fire dancers. A highlight during the reception was the first dance song, a rendition of “Tale As Old as Time” from “Beauty and the Beast,” performed by an opera singer. And absolutely no one expected indoor fireworks for the couple’s grand entrance!

The couple enjoyed a fun-filled week filled with lots of laughter and beautiful family and friends who traveled from near and (very) far to share the joy of their celebration.
